Design Process
Storyboard & Shotlists

In my work process, I first searched to explore more functions of the audio device, such as input. This way, the accuracy of audio capture can be adjusted according to the changes in external sounds.

Researching
This work enabled me to set up the recording equipment before the shoot, ensuring that the subsequent shooting and recording plans could be implemented smoothly.

Testing The Sound Equipment Before Shooting
Make sure every recording device is functioning properly.

After the shooting, I searched for background music that matched the theme of the whole movie through Pixabay, such as relaxing music.

Background Music Hunting
Then I shared all the background music that I thought matched the theme of the movie with the team members, and we chose the most suitable music together.
Challenges
Script Time Controlling
This is the hardest part. I need to calibrate the time and text of each caption through Adobe Pr. I also create a document to record the exact time of each caption. This work is not difficult, but it needs to be confirmed and recorded over and over again.

Duration and Content
This was one of the more challenging obstacles as originally we were given feedback to delete content from the beginning in order to help cut down content to match the 5 minute limit. But upon further review Denise instructed us to keep all the content as she was quite happy with the overall flow and material. Instead she suggested speeding up the video where possible as when viewing it at 1.25x speed she didn't think it seemed unnatural. We discussed what could be further done so when editing the length of the film we shorted the clips by getting rid of pauses or any “ums” or “ahs” and speeding up the clips where possible. We kept most of the speed within a Range of 105-115% as it would be less noticeable for the section where Denise would be visibly talking during the interview. We wanted to avoid her speaking unnaturally fast so we kept a consistent pacing for the interview clips of between 110%-115% the original speed. We also confirmed and got permission to keep the longer length of the film for both the class and from Denise herself.
Movie Is Coming Up!
Due to NDA restrictions, I am unable to share specific details about the final production. However, I am proud to highlight that this project achieved significant success, securing a Top 2 ranking in its category.
